Your stem cell agency FAQs answered

Are you curious what, exactly California’s stem cell agency funds? Where the money goes? What results we’ve had? How much money we’ve spent?

Answers to these questions and more are now available on an FAQ that we unveiled along with our new website last week. You can see that FAQ here.

We put this resource together because it seemed to be something our viewers wanted. We’ve noticed that among the most popular pages on our site is one that focuses on Myths and Misconceptions about stem cell research, like the source of cells for creating embryonic stem cells and human cloning.

Based on how many of you seemed to be seeking out answers to these questions about stem cell research, we thought it would be helpful to have a similar resource about our own organization. After all, we were created by the people of California when they voted to approve Proposition 71 in 2004. We’d like those people (and, in fact anyone interested in stem cell research) to have more information about what we’re doing in the state.

Let us know if you have additional questions you’d like answered by emailing them to our info line at info(at)CIRM.ca.gov.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be focusing on other features of our brand new website. If you haven’t checked the site out yet please do: www.cirm.ca.gov.
