CIRM discusses progress with the San Diego Union Tribune: video answers

CIRM Chairman Jonathan Thomas discussing CIRM policies and progress with the San Diego Union Tribune
Last week, several people from CIRM met with the San Diego Union Tribune editorial board. 2013 being what it is, one of the reporters who attended that meeting also recorded video, took photos and produced a photo/video journalism account of the event.

You can see Bradley Fikes’ account of the meeting here.

One of my favorite moments recorded by Fikes is when CIRM grantee Lawrence Goldstein of UCSD, who attended the meeting, quoted the famous philanthropist Mary Lasker, who said, “If you think research is expensive, try disease.”

Other videos show CIRM chairman Jonathan Thomas talking about changes in our conflict of interest procedures, scientific progress, and our work trying to encourage big pharmaceutical companies to invest in cell therapies being developed by our grantees.
